What do you do when you have hundreds of rows of organic garlic to harvest? You get to work!
Quarter Moon Farm in Hancock, N.H., has indeed been hard at work harvesting their beautiful organic garlic, much of which will undergo the fermenting process to become its delectable black garlic.
But first, the backbreaking work of the harvest must take place.
Cindy, Marcel, and friends got the job done! Each garlic head was harvested. Then the garlic was bundled together and hung from rafters in their garage to cure.
The garlic can then be brought into the fermenting room a little at a time to begin the fermenting process.
Meanwhile, Sugar and Pi are feeling very satisfied with themselves (and exhausted) with their part in helping to get the harvest done! Surely their cheerful presence was appreciated by everyone at the farm.
Quarter Moon Farm is at many farmer’s markets during the summer, and of course, their products can be bought online. Don’t forget all the great health benefits of their organic black garlic, the ultimate result of a harvest well done!
