Creamy Pasta with Black Garlic

This is a satisfying comfort food that takes very little time to create. You can modify it many ways according to your taste or mood!

Ingredients

• 12 oz. bowtie pasta
• 3 Italian sausages (hot, sweet, or mild)
• 4 oz. sliced mushrooms (cremini or button)
• 5 Tablespoons butter
• 16 oz. heavy cream (or half & half, whole milk, or some combination)
• 1/8 cup Parmesan (or more to taste)
• 1 or 2 heads Quarter Moon Farm Black Garlic
• Salt & pepper, to taste

Directions

1. Slice sausages into ‘coins’ and brown in frying or sauté pan.
2. Add sliced mushrooms when sausages are close to done; cook gently for about 3 minutes.
3. Remove sausages and mushrooms to a bowl.
4. Meanwhile, cook pasta (about 13 minutes).
5. To make sauce, add butter to the frying or sauté pan (leave sausage drippings), and melt over low heat.
6. Add heavy cream and heat to a low simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
7. Sauce should gradually thicken; if you are using half & half or milk instead of cream, you may want to add 1/8 cup flour dissolved in a little water, and then whisk it into the liquid a little at a time until sauce looks creamy.
8. After cream sauce has thickened, add Parmesan and stir thoroughly to incorporate.
9. Stir in cooked sausages and mushrooms and heat through.
10. Stir in about 15 Black Garlic cloves.
11. Drain pasta and mix with cream sauce mixture.
12. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with a side salad to complete this meal. Enjoy!
