Apples are in abundance in the fall, so why not pair them with black garlic? The sweet of the apples couples very well with the sweetness of the fermented black garlic.
Ingredients
- Mixed leafy greens
- Organic apples, chopped
- Walnuts, chopped
- Quarter Moon Farm black garlic
- Salad Dressing
Start with your favorite mix of greens. Remember that dark leafy greens have lots of vitamins! Toss in chopped walnuts, chopped organic apples (leave the skin on for maximum nutrients), and Quarter Moon Farm black garlic cloves (either whole or chopped). Add your favorite dressing, and you have a great side dish or a light entree.
For an easy, homemade dressing, just mix equal portions of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Add dried basil and oregano. Whisk in a half teaspoon of Dijon mustard, and salt and pepper, to taste.
This salad is vegan as is, but you can add crumbled feta or sliced grilled chicken, if desired.
